World Clock

Peter Russell's World Clock compiles demographic and other data into one big, scary, planetary data visualization experiment. Some questions:
1) is it more than just a scare tactic?
2) at what point (if at all) might people be inspired to change given this data?
3) at what degree of extrapolation does the data lose accuracy?

Museum of Portuguese Language - Sao Paulo

It was tough to tear myself away from this interactive gestural display in Sao Paulo (May 2006), but I managed to get a few video clips before leaving. The idea is to move small words together to form larger compound words. Once you've managed to mash two together (usually with the help of others, and lots of attempts by those little words to run away), the display illustrates a definition of the newly formed word.

Hard to hate these gestural interfaces.

Couldn't resist posting a pointer to this Duchamp site via core77.com. I'm almost inspired to dig up that old undergrad art history paper I wrote on Duchamp...almost.
